About The Program
While art is my passion, I have been a doctor and spinal surgeon for the majority of my life. In continuing my education, I completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine from the University of Arizona in 2013, directed by Andrew Weil and several other marvelous educators.
In today's world it is imperative that we educate children about the serious and lasting effects of nutrition choices on our lives and longevity. Additionally, we cannot sustain our current health care spending, and it is estimated that 70% of today's health care costs could be prevented by appropriate lifestyle and nutrition choices.
To do my part, I started a pilot program with art educator Terri Sanders at Hauke High School in January 2015.
Using art to learn about other topics has shown to be an effective learning pathway.
